Demo of Kawai CN 33 CN Series Introduction
Learning to play the piano can have a life-changing effect on an individual. From students performing better in school to adults relieving stress, studies suggest that music has a tremendously positive influence on one’s well-being. Playing the piano can blossom into a fulfilling, life-long activity… and choosing a quality instrument is a critical first step. The two most important characteristics of any piano are its touch and tone.
A realistic, weighted keyboard promotes finger strength and control while a detailed, expressive piano sound allows the player to convey a greater depth of feeling and emotion. Both elements are essential for an instrument to provide an enjoyable and rewarding piano playing experience. Kawai’s CN Series digital pianos offer exceptional touch and tone, featuring realistic 88-note keyboard actions and beautifully authentic grand piano sounds recorded from one of the world’s finest concert instruments. They are elegant, yet affordable – and offer additional benefits not found in their acoustic counterparts (such as portability and no regular maintenance). In addition to faithfully recreating the touch and tone of an acoustic piano, the CN series digital pianos boast an impressive selection of additional instrument voices that add variety to practice and performance. A number of useful features are ideally suited to beginners, while others are valuable for skilled pianists.
Both CN models feature sturdy cabinets with sliding key covers and full pedal boards with three pedals, including a damper pedal with half-damper capability. Kawai’s exclusive Lesson function allows aspiring pianists to learn piano with a collection of lesson songs from the popular Alfred course books… and the unique Concert Magic feature encourages even nonplayers to enjoy making music. More experienced players will enjoy the Dual playing mode, built-in recorder and metronome. Educators will appreciate the “Four Hands” playing mode that allows paired students to practice together sharing a single instrument. And all will appreciate the convenience of headphone jacks. Built-in effects, reverb, transpose and tuning control add to the CN series’ impressive capabilities.
The CN33 model (shown previously) boasts an enhanced cabinet and sound system, plus additional features such as a Split playing mode and a convenient Balance slider on the panel. Its powerful USB capability provides hassle-free connection to computers and the ability to load or save recorded pieces to flash memory. Line-in and Line-out jacks offer convenient options for recording professionals and home studio enthusiasts.
Kawai’s new Responsive Hammer action recreates the distinctive touch of an acoustic grand piano, with its realistic movement and design providing a smooth, natural, piano playing experience. The weight of the keyboard is appropriately graded to mirror the heavier bass hammers and lighter treble hammers of an acoustic piano, while structural reinforcements within the action assembly ensure greater stability during fortissimo and staccato passages. The new CN Series instruments also feature Ivory Touch key surfaces that absorb finger moisture to assist the player’s performance. In addition, Let-off* recreates the subtle ‘notch’ sensation felt when softly playing the keys of a grand piano, meeting the expectations of the most discerning pianists.
