Young Chang is a Korean manufacturer of pianos and industrial
piano manufacturing machinery, headquartered in South Korea.
As one of the worlds largest piano builders they build for
Essex (a Steinway designed piano), Bergmann (a best-seller
at Michelle’s Piano Company), Schaffer and Sons, Cline,
and others. Young Chang has more than 2000 full time workers,
designing and building its upright and grand pianos, and the
Kurzweil digital pianos and synthesizers. They assembled Yamaha
pianos in Korea from 1962 to 1975.
Through advanced building techniques Young Chang has produced
competitively priced instruments that have been placed at
Stanford University, Palo Alto, Ca., Peabody Conservatory
of Music, Baltimore, Md. and many prestigious music schools.
They were rated “Best Buy” in Consumer’s
Digest magazine. A large aspect of Young Chang’s business
is selling manufacturing equipment to other piano builders.
Bergmann is Michelle’s best seller because of “bang
for the buck.” Many clients that visit us for used pianos
end up buying a new Bergmann because they are similarly priced,
and have a 10-year warranty. They come in the most demanded
cabinets and finishes: polished mahogany and ebony, plus traditional
styles.
